The only tornado of the day happened rather early just north of Dodge City, Kansas. We saw a few weak cells to our north and stopped for lunch to see which direction we should go. Shortly afterward the storms to our north strengthened and began to ingested an outflow boundary. Soo they got severe warned. We raced north to intercept it, but we were still about 10 miles away when the tornado started. As we closed in, the tornado dissipated, but the beefy wallcloud remained for another 20 minutes.
