This turned out to be a really fun chase with Alex while he was in town over the weekend. We drove to Wichita Falls, TX to await storm initiation along the dryline. A cluster of updrafts developed and moved northeast. As the cells merged a dominate supercell developed and massive RFD cleared out the updraft. A wall cloud developed and rotated intermittently. We chased for about 3 hours through the paved and gravel roads in rural Texas. Even with a rotating mesocyclone, no fully developed funnels or tornadoes formed. However, we did note a few instances of funnel formation. Some beautiful structure at sunset capped off a good first chase of the season.
