Daily Fee and Expenses

I charge $100 per day for each storm chaser that joins me (see Dates for my schedule). In addition, hotel rooms, gas, and tolls are split evenly among the group members.

On an average chase day, each chaser will pay an equal portion for gas and hotels and can expect to pay roughly:

• $30 to $50 for gas 
• $50 to $100 on Hotel - You will share a room with another chaser, but you will have your own bed. We usually stay at reliable, safe, and comfortable hotels that provide reliable wifi, complimentary breakfast, and a pool or gym.
• $5 on Miscellaneous - National Park Entrance tickets for down-days, tolls, etc.​
• In total, expect to pay around $200 per day; although, costs will fluctuate daily and heavily depend on total amount of driving, hotel location, number of chasers in the vehicle, etc.

You will be financially responsible for:

• Food (We usually get free breakfast every morning at the hotel)
• Airline tickets to Denver
• ​Souvenirs and personal items

Booking Your Chase

It is important to me, and the other chasers, that you confirm your dates for chasing. You can do that by putting down a nonrefundable deposit of 50% of your total $100 per day fee (ie. $100 per day x 7 days = $700 x 50% = $350.00 deposit). This will ensure that you get a spot in the vehicle. This deposit will go toward your total trip cost, and I only ask for it to make sure that I have dedicated chasers signing up.  The rest of your fee is due one month before you begin chasing with me. Therefore, you will have paid me the fee in full before you arrive. ​
