I targeted Altus, OK. Rafal from Australia joined me for this chase. ​We got on the south side of some severe storms near Vernon, Texas. The storms started messy, but as we chased them east, they got more organized with the better environment. We were treated to some awesome structure, close lightning strikes, and a little funnel near dark. I was introducing myself to another chase when a strike of lightning hit in the field next to us. We could feel the heat of the bolt on our faces! Overall, a really fun and active chase.
