We targeted southeastern Nebraska away from many of the other chasers. We had a small supercell all to ourselves for the first hour of its life. Plenty of funnels formed and came 1/3 to 1/2 of the way down, but no tornadoes touched down. When night fell, we found ourselves very close to the rain-wrapped mesocyclone of the storm and experienced some 100 mph + winds near Wilbur, NE. As we dove south, we got an awesome view of the shelf cloud that was pushing south.
