Had a difficult chase on this HP beast in northwestern Oklahoma. The chase started off well. Dejan, Matic, Derin, and I approached a developing supercell from the south. Shortly after getting into position near the developing wallcloud, the vorticity really cranked up and a funnel began to develop. We were nearly under it for a few minutes until it occluded and a new wallcloud developed to the east. A series of occlusions and major rain wrapping forced us to stay back and bail south in order to get back in front of the cell on the opposite side of the river. We positioned ourselves in the vault area for the remainder of the chase and scored and needle-thin, short-lived tornado. Nothing special, although it was nice to capture it since our hopes were high for this day to deliver but it fell short of expectations.
